Take 2 EP
Northern England’s, Stem Records, pushes forward with its fourth release this August, with ‘Take 2’, by production duo DAMH.
DAMH is the pairing of two reputable producers in the electronic music industry, they’ve opted to keep this new project anonymous, but it’s safe to say these two know their stuff with original content being found on the likes of Pampa Recordings and IRR. Here they join the Stem Records roster, a label, which, although only three releases deep, can boast material from the likes of Legowelt, Ultrasone and Mooryc.
The releases opens with the title track ‘Take 2’, the cut employs punchy analogue drums, warm synth sequences, organic chords and a gritty background depth as its driving force. While cleverly processed, and manipulated vocal lines, evolving synth bass tones, and bright strings add a further charm and character to the already brilliantly crafted record.
On the latter half of the single is ‘What A Waste Of Time’, staying on a similar melodic, intricate tip, tightly fusing an amalgamation of synth melodies, vocal chops and crunchy drums. The duo create an ever-evolving feel throughout the record, with subtle nuances in the programming, and warbling pitch changes to the synthesized elements, again creating something rather unique and intriguing.
DAMH’s ‘Take 2’ EP is out on Stem Records digitally 18th August.
