The Pool House founder Bisharat steps up to his own outlet with another EP of cultured minimal house.

American Ricky Bisharat is a prolific producer with plenty of hype behind him, and rightly so. His label and lifestyle brand The Pool House has a big following in his native Chicago and beyond, and always deals in fresh, forward looking house and techno that brings a new perspective to the Windy City. That’s the case once more on his latest three track missive, Small Hymn.

The title cut opens up the EP with an expertly reduced groove that is embellished with muffled ambiance from a busy house party, which adds real atmosphere. Driving bass powers it along as a subtle sprinkling of percussive keeps you locked to this most compelling cut. ’Jeremy’s Hymn’ is next and is a high octane track that sweeps you up and never lets go thanks to the underlapping drums, scurrying synth lines and cavernous underground sound designs. It’s a mind melter for those cosy back rooms and afterparties, as is ‘Dynasty’: creepy in nature thanks to the unsettling synths and flapping hits, it is a pressurised minimal track that takes you deep into a menacing late night sound world.

Always serving up slick grooves with superbly stylish details, Bisharat excels once again here.

Bisharat ‘Small Hymn’ drops on The Pool House on 28th October 2019.

Tracklist:

1. Small Talk
2. Jeremy’s Hymn
3. Dynasty
