Loot Recordings proudly presents its seventh release, this time from Amsterdam’s Robin Fett. His two standout originals come backed with remixes from Doomwork, Stiv Hey and Kered.
A fast rising talent on the Amsterdam and European scene, Robin Fett is a producer who can deliver a variety of styles that range from crushing big room sounds to melodic deep flavours as exemplified by this new EP. Before now he has picked up support from the likes of Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati and Riva Starr and plays various high profile gigs and festivals on a regular basis.
His first track ‘Trucco’ is an impactful techno roller with bulky drums, an industrial vibe and clever use of filters to really suck you in. It is the sort of main room track that will make whole warehouses bounce as one and is sure to fly this summer.
With releases on imprints such as Cocoon and Ovum, Italy’s Doomwork is a revered duo that remix to perfection here. Their take on the original incorporates an endless hypnotic loop that sucks the listener in and is accented by vocal stabs. Next to tackle the same track, Stiv Hey is a rising Italian name that’s gained big time support from the techno underground. His twisted remix of Trucco is driven by a massive bass line and punchy drums that’s complimented by snares, cymbal crashes and build ups that work in unison to build the energy throughout the duration of the track. Label boss Kered then remixes and winds down the beats per minute to clock in with a deep groove that’s powered by a masterfully swinging bass line, haunting background effects and warm pads. Slow burning and sensuous, it is a great rework.
Fett’s other original is ‘Melodies in F#’, a much more sensuous and deep house track with warm chords and jazzy keys that really makes for romantic listening. It is rich and musical and perfect for cosier back room parties.
